GLB League Season Opener

Posted September 27th, 2008 by AMPower

On this trip to Pubnico the GLB Hockey League had its first game of the season and they needed a goalie, so Lou & I packed up our last job of the day, rummaged up some goalie gear and headed to the Mariners Centre in Yarmouth.

Of course I had my camera’s on hand, but instead of the traditional shots of the local area I had an opportunity to record some Action!

The first montage is based on the classic Hockey Night in Canada;
the 2nd is the first period with Tom Cochrane & Red Rider’s Big League; and the 3rd video consists of highlights of the game with the Tragically Hip’s Fifty Mission cap.

Provide your comments to let me know what you think…good &-or bad.

Enjoy!!

Hockey Night In Pubnico

In Hockey Night in Canada fashion, these are some highlights of some shots and saves chronicled historically; starting out in black & white… to the seventies/eighties… to modern HD quality.

(yes, there are some missing…Sorry, they’ll make a season highlight reel).

First Game; 1st period in the GLBig League

The players leave the dressing room and the action starts at center ice with the first face-off and continues to follow the first portion of the game.Tom Cochrane provides the music.

Highlights of the Game

Instead of just having you look at everyone skating left and right I’ve highlighted some passes, shots and saves from the rest of the footage. The Tragically Hip sing about Hockey Cards & Sou’westers?!? (naw.)

    I am very impressed with this Blog. I would like to see a calendar of the coming up events with the GLB League. You might get more fans.
    Keep up the good work. I love to see things from Pubnico for I do get home sick from time to time. This is a great way to keep in touch.
    Thanks for making my day.
